SEGRAFO's mission is to promote barn drying and forage drying techniques among livestock farmers and agricultural stakeholders. The association participates in numerous open days, agricultural trade shows, presentations in schools and training centers, as well as various communication initiatives to disseminate best practices related to forage systems and farm self-sufficiency.
It supports farmers in their barn drying projects through group training, technical visits and personalized support for project leaders in dairy, beef, goat and sheep farming.
SEGRAFO also carries out the technical sizing of projects for drying forage, cereals, and other agricultural products through detailed and costed studies. These studies include estimating the forage requirements, sizing drying buildings, calculating fan airflow, and designing plans for the future barn dryer.
Finally, the association contributes to the continuous improvement of forage drying techniques by developing technical references, conducting targeted studies (supplementary drying equipment, energy savings, flat drying) and organizing study trips in France and abroad to observe, analyze and disseminate agricultural innovations.
